Scott Hewitt Named Regional Vice President Of The Hartford's Baltimore Regional Office

The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc., (NYSE: HIG), one of the nation’s largest diversified financial services companies, announced that Scott Hewitt will join the company as Regional Vice President of the Baltimore regional office. In this position, Hewitt will assume responsibility for The Hartford’s agency relationships and the company’s sales and growth initiatives for all property and casualty lines, including auto, home and a full suite of products for businesses within the region. The Baltimore regional office is one of five regional offices in The Hartford’s Southeastern Division. The Baltimore regional office covers Maryland and parts of West Virginia. Hewitt comes to The Hartford from Selective Insurance in Branchville, N.J. where he served as Senior Vice President of Commercial Lines. At Selective, he was responsible for the growth of that company’s $1.5 billion commercial book of business. He joined that company in 2001 as vice president and region manager for the Chesapeake Region, which included Maryland, Delaware, Virginia and Washington, D.C. His experience also includes working in various positions for Jewelers Mutual Insurance in Wisconsin and the Westfield Insurance Group in Indiana and Ohio. "With a keen awareness of the business environment and opportunities in the region, Scott will be a tremendous asset to our team,” noted Mike Lesniak, senior vice president and Southeast division manager, to whom Hewitt will report.
