C-27J JCA Team to Showcase the C-27J Spartan Military Transport Aircraft During the Special Operations Forces Week and Advanced Planning Briefing to Industry Conference (SOCOM 2006)

Monday June 19th -- Friday, June 23rd, 2006
Tampa Convention Center

WHAT: C-27J JCA Team will exhibit and display a model of the
C-27J Spartan Transport Aircraft, considered the best
value solution for the Joint Cargo Aircraft (JCA) program.
The C-27J JCA Team is led by L-3 Integrated Systems (L-3
IS), Finmeccanica's Alenia North America, Global Military
Aircraft Systems (GMAS), and Boeing. The JCA program was
established to address operational shortfalls and
capability gaps within the existing U.S. Army and Air
Force fleet of fixed-wing aircraft.

The C-27J Team members at SOCOM will highlight the
characteristics of the aircraft that make it ideal for
special operations warfare, and the team's experience
supporting special operations forces at home and deployed
around the world.

The C-27J is a true multi-functional, military aircraft
designed and built to support deployed soldiers "the last
tactical mile" in the most remote and austere
environments. It is the most rugged, versatile and
survivable aircraft in its class and it fully meets all
JCA key performance parameters. The C-27J is also the only
aircraft in its class that provides interoperability with
Army and Air Force airlift assets, making it the best
value solution for the JCA.
