The Hartford Names Kim Johnson Senior Vice President of Investor Relations

The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc., (NYSE: HIG) today announced that Kim Johnson has been promoted to senior vice president for investor relations. Johnson, 51, has served as vice president of investor relations at The Hartford since 2004 and will continue to report to The Hartford’s executive vice president and chief financial officer, David Johnson. "Kim delivers a very high level of service to our investors,” said David Johnson. "She unceasingly seeks to anticipate investors’ needs, innovates new ways to facilitate their understanding of our company and takes significant initiative in delivering her work to her clients. As an actuary with years of experience in line management, she displays a remarkable ability to aid investors in analyzing and gaining insight into our many complex businesses. Kim remains passionate in her commitment to even more enhancements of our investor relations service and we look forward to delivering these to our shareholders in the coming years.” Kim Johnson’s career in the insurance industry spans thirty years, including more than seven years with The Hartford. Johnson joined the company in 1999 as vice president of marketing and product development for the Group Benefits Division. In 2002, she assumed responsibility for Group Reinsurance Plus, and was named vice president of group specialty markets the following year. She assumed responsibility of the company’s investor relations in 2004. Starting her career as an actuary at State Farm Life Insurance Company, Johnson later joined Allstate Life Insurance Company. Over the course of fifteen years at Allstate, she held progressively responsible roles in life and annuity product development, marketing, corporate strategy and business development. Before she joined The Hartford, Johnson served as vice president and chief actuary for the UNUM Corporation. A graduate of the University of Illinois, Johnson is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and a Chartered Life Underwriter.
