PECO Names Elizabeth A. Murphy as New Director of Governmental and External Affairs

PHILADELPHIA, July 24 /PRNewswire/ -- PECO today announced that Elizabeth A. Murphy has been named as the company's new director of Governmental and External Affairs. Murphy, who has more than 20 years of government, economic development, strategic planning and senior management experience, will lead PECO's state government, issues and policy management and external affairs team.

"She is a consummate professional who will bring tested and proven leadership to the organization. She has been a well-respected executive in the Delaware Valley for many years now and I'm pleased that she is joining the PECO team."

Murphy will be responsible for leading the organization that represents the company throughout the five county service territory and interfacing with state, local and county governments. She also will oversee the legislative lobbying activities and policy development.

She has held senior level positions in the maritime and transportation industries in Pennsylvania and New Jersey since 1990, and most recently served as chief operating officer for the Delaware River Port Authority for the past 7 years. She has a Bachelors of Arts degree from State University of New York at Albany. Murphy will begin her new role on August 20, 2007.
