TheMarkets.com Introduces Fixed Income Research

NEW YORK, Feb. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- TheMarkets.com today announced that the Company has expanded its research offering to include fixed income content on its global research and estimates platform. Adding to the platform's global equity coverage, the new content covers all debt instruments, including high-grade and high-yield debt, interest rate products, and asset-backed securities, among others.

"We've integrated this fixed income content directly onto the platform primarily because our clients have asked for it. But we're also responding to a shift in trends in the asset management industry," said David Eisner, CEO and President. "In the past year, we've found that an increasing number of our buy-side clients have embraced new investing strategies -- specifically multi-asset-class -- in which they invest across all levels of a company's capital structure.

"This growing trend among investors is affecting all players in our space -- investors, broker-dealers, and service providers like TheMarkets.com," said Eisner. "Investors are increasingly evaluating the entire balance sheet, as they move toward capital structure investing. In turn, dealers on the Street are moving away from traditional debt and equity silos in their research and trading operations. And now, we're following their lead in offering our clients a multi-asset-class research platform. TheMarkets.com enables them to visit just one source to get all types of research and broker data they need to make sound investment decisions."

A web-based platform, TheMarkets.com now features real-time global equity and fixed income research, broker earnings estimates, analyst earnings models in their original Excel format, and links -- without an additional password -- into the proprietary websites of its owning brokers. The platform has been adopted at nearly 1200 buy-side firms in 36 countries worldwide since its inception five years ago.

"We're pleased to see TheMarkets.com taking this strategic initiative to meet the research needs of its clients, who are ultimately our clients, as well," said Margaret Cannella, Director of Americas Corporate Research at JPMorgan. "We've seen the trend toward consolidation in the industry, which is why we recently reorganized our own business to better support multi-asset-class investment mandates. By incorporating fixed income research into its platform, TheMarkets.com shows its continuous commitment to evolving with its clients as they and their industry change."
