''High School Musical'' Video Game Franchise Ships Over Two Million Units Worldwide with Release of Console Games

Disney Interactive Studios announced today that with the release of the innovative, new "High School Musical: Sing It!” this week, the company has shipped over 2 million units of video games inspired by the popular Disney Channel Original Movies. "High School Musical: Sing It!” for Wii™ home video game system and PlayStation® 2 computer entertainment system provide worldwide "High School Musical” fans a chance to step into the spotlight and sing along with Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Ryan, Chad, Taylor and the Wildcats. Along with "High School Musical: Sing It!,” Disney offers fans "High School Musical: Makin’ The Cut!” for Nintendo DS. This rhythm-based game engages players as they dance and compete in the ultimate music competition. "High School Musical: Sing It!” for PlayStation 2 started shipping to stores this week. This holiday must-have allows players to participate in the stories of "High School Musical” and "High School Musical 2” by singing and performing 30 popular songs from the chart-topping soundtracks and other Disney Channel favorites. The game features familiar locations from both "High School Musical” movies and three gameplay modes offering a variety of experiences for up to eight players. In story mode, one or two players perform hit songs from "Start of Something New” to "Everyday.” In party mode, up to eight family members or friends sing and challenge each other in their very own karaoke competition. In quick play mode, players jump into any song using any characters, outfits and environments unlocked during story mode. "High School Musical: Sing It!” is rated "E” for everyone. Available now for PlayStation 2 system, the game is $49.99 bundled with a special edition "High School Musical” branded Logitech microphone and $39.99 without the microphone. Available November 13 on Wii, the game is priced at $59.99 bundled with the same microphone.
