Exelon Announces Key Appointments in Human Resources and Operations Organizations

Exelon today announced the promotion of Calvin Butler, Jr., to senior vice president of human resources for Exelon as well as additional management changes in human resources and operations.

In his new role, Butler will lead a human resources team responsible for overseeing activities that span the employee lifecycle, including sourcing and selection; managing; and development and training. He will report to Ruth Ann Gillis, executive vice president and chief administrative and diversity officer, Exelon, and president of Exelon Business Services Company.

Butler previously served as senior vice president of corporate affairs for ComEd, where he managed state legislative initiatives, maintained strategic relationships with key state stakeholders and large customers, and oversaw real estate and facilities, and economic development. Prior to joining ComEd in 2008, Butler served as senior vice president of external affairs for RR Donnelley.

"Calvin brings a wealth of business experience to the role and, importantly, expertise in understanding and addressing the needs of the business,” said Gillis. "This will be of vital importance as the human resources team continues to bring the client as well as the employee to its work processes.”

Exelon also appointed Victor Fonseca to senior vice president of compensation and benefits; John Samolis to senior vice president of labor relations; Michael Campbell to vice president, talent management and HR operations, all reporting to Butler. Exelon also named Ellen Caya to vice president of cyber and physical security, reporting to Dan Hill, senior vice president and chief information officer; and Susan Weiss to vice president of Exelon’s commercial operations group, reporting to Gillis.

All the appointments are effective immediately.
