Comcast Foundation Awards Nearly $80,000 in College Scholarships across Colorado

WHAT:
Comcast will present two deserving Colorado high school seniors each with a $10,000 Leaders and Achievers scholarship. Every year, Comcast and the Comcast Foundation work with high school principals and guidance counselors to identify the best and brightest high school seniors in their communities. Comcast wants to motivate young people to achieve their potential, to be involved in their schools, and to be catalysts for positive change in their communities. The Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program recognizes students who exemplify these ideals, and who serve as models for fellow students. This year, 60 Colorado high school students received $78,000 in scholarships. Since the program’s inception in 2004, 461 Colorado students have received $519,000 in scholarship funding.

Bryant Brown of Cherokee Trail High School in Aurora and Cindy Mendoza of Battle Mountain High School in Edwards will each be presented with $10,000 scholarships at the Public Education & Business Coalition luncheon in Denver. Through the Leaders & Achievers Scholarship Program, an additional 58 Colorado high school seniors received $1,000 scholarships.
