Australia-based Optus Signs Applications Services Contract with HP to Innovate Customer Experience
HP Enterprise Services today announced that Optus, an Australia-based telecommunications company, has signed a three-year agreement to improve the performance and quality levels of key application support services.
Under the agreement, HP (NYSE: HPQ) will provide applications management for a number of key applications including certain customer billing, data warehouse and other core systems. Outsourcing these applications to HP will help Optus improve applications performance, quality and reliability.
"By streamlining our applications environment, we expect to achieve significant service level and operational improvements across our IT portfolio, which will result in a better experience overall for our customers,” said Lawrie Turner, chief information officer, Optus. "The new agreement represents a significant commitment in our relationship with HP. We selected HP for its operational capability, flexibility, security compliance and experience in managing complex transitions.”
Teams have commenced planning the move of Optus’ current support from a large number of suppliers to HP. Using its Best Shore® strategy, HP will provide services from the right place, at the right time. Standardized tools and processes allow for service delivery to be efficiently and effectively transferred between delivery centers worldwide.
"Optus needs an agile applications environment to innovate and meet the changing needs of its customers,” said David Caspari, managing director, Australia and New Zealand, HP Enterprise Services. "Combining HP’s deep telecommunications and applications expertise with global Best Shore delivery capabilities will help Optus to improve application quality and achieve cost savings.”
HP Enterprise Services is the recently announced brand name for Electronic Data Systems, LLC.
