xpedx Expands Offering for North American Digital Print and Business Imaging Markets, Launches New Vector Papers Line

    xpedx, North America's largest marketer and distributor of printing papers and graphics supplies and equipment, today introduced a new branded line of printing papers for business imaging and digital printing markets.
    "There is an unmet market need for high-performance, high-quality business imaging and digital printing papers at value price points," explains Dave Wessling, xpedx Director of Marketing for Business Imaging, Western and Midwest regions.
    Wessling said the new xpedx Vector line of coated and multipurpose papers was created in response to this need. The cut-size papers are precision sheeted and have been widely tested on all major OEM printing equipment, including laser and inkjet printers, plain-paper fax machines, high-speed copiers, offset presses and direct imaging presses.
    Vector, stocked in a wide range of standard sizes and weights, is available now in the U.S. via xpedx.com. Multipurpose papers are also available nationwide at xpedx locations, while coated laser and DI papers are currently available at Southeastern U.S. locations. National stocking on the laser and DI papers is to be phased in throughout 2005.

    Details on the papers:

    -- Vector Coated Laser targets mid- and high-volume production
    printers with copy and laser applications. The 90-bright
    sheets feature a blue-white shade and are available in gloss
    or dull finishes for color or black and white projects. Custom
    orders are available in low order minimums.

    -- Vector DI Coated Offset features an 87-brightness and is
    available in gloss and matte finishes for vibrant four-color
    prints on equipment including Ryobi and Heidelberg DI presses.
    The smooth surface and ink holdout deliver excellent print
    results at an economical price point. Custom orders are also
    available in low order minimums.

    -- Vector Multi Purpose Paper is designed for excellent
    performance on laser and inkjet printers, high-speed copiers
    and plain-paper faxes. With affordable pricing and ready
    availability in standard sizes, this 20-lb. sheet is well
    suited for everyday document production.

    In addition to a full line of mill-branded papers and Vector, xpedx also has other private label brands including Venture(TM) an 84-bright multipurpose paper converted exclusively for xpedx by a minority and women-owned business enterprise (MWBE). Venture papers can be purchased with MWBE-targeted funds and are available in four standard sizes.
