Why Nike Stock Got Crushed Today
Nike (NYSE: NKE) published its fiscal Q3 results after the market closed yesterday, and the report spurred a big sell-off in Wednesday's daily trading session. The company's share price closed out the day down 15.5%. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 gained 0.7% in the day's trading. The company's earnings of $0.35 per share in the quarter actually came in significantly ahead of the average analyst estimate's call for a per-share profit of $0.28, and sales of approximately $11.3 billion in the quarter were roughly in line with the average Wall Street target.
