Top Analyst Positions EMC as a Leader in Business Process Management for Document Processes
HOPKINTON, Mass., July 19 /PRNewswire/ -- EMC Corporation , the world leader in information infrastructure solutions, today announced that it has been positioned as a leader in the Forrester Wave(TM): Business Process Management for Document Processes, Q3 2007 (July 2007)(1) by Forrester Research, Inc.
In February of this year EMC(R) announced the Documentum(R) Process Suite, a comprehensive business process management (BPM) solution for analyzing, modeling, orchestrating and optimizing a wide range of enterprise processes involving people, systems, content and data (see previous press release: http://www.emc.com/news/emc_releases/showRelease.jsp?id=4908). The Process Suite marked the integration of software gained from EMC's June 2006 acquisition of Proactivity Inc., with EMC's existing Documentum BPM capabilities. In less than one year since the introduction of the Process Suite, EMC has been positioned as a leader by Forrester.
"We are pleased to be recognized by this industry analyst as a leading provider of BPM for document processes solutions," said Balaji Yelamanchili, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Content Management & Archiving at EMC. "We believe the report reflects our offerings ability to enable organizations to maximize their IT investments and improve business operations by better understanding, orchestrating and optimizing their mission-critical processes. Furthermore, EMC's standing as a leader demonstrates our ability to successfully integrate acquisitions within our existing offerings to deliver additional value to our customers in the form of complete, end-to-end information infrastructure solutions."
Eurobank EFG, is an EMC customer using the Documentum Process Suite as part of its consumer lending operations. "The combination of analysis, modeling, orchestration and monitoring products, along with the ability to manage all the different types of information that support our lending processes, makes the Documentum Process Suite an ideal solution for Eurobank," said Dimitris Mavroyiannis, CIO Greece, Eurobank EFG. Eurobank is using the Documentum Process Suite to streamline the mortgage business allowing both external parties and internal business units to be integrated in the mortgage process. "We are now able to work cohesively across business divisions and integrate external partners, increasing the efficiency of our operations and providing our customers with the best combination of products and services based on their needs."
EMC achieved a leadership position in the Forrester Wave report on Business Process Management for Document Processes due to its strong product architecture. According to Forrester, "The tools acquired from ProActivity earn EMC the highest scores for design, monitoring and management in the current document-centric BPMS Forrester Wave evaluation. These high marks add to the already best-in-class scores EMC would have earned for architecture, capture, and repository support even before the acquisition. As a result, EMC is an all-around leader and has a very strong current offering in BPM for document-intensive processes space." Forrester also notes, "In addition, the May 2007 release of TaskSpace will provide a lighter and easier to configure client app and help overcome implementation and desktop integration issues." In June, EMC was also placed in the Leaders quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for Business Process Analysis Tools, 2H07-1H08(3) by Gartner based upon its completeness of vision and its ability to execute. According to Gartner, "Vendors in the leaders quadrant are high-viability vendors with proven track records in BPA tools with high degrees of functionality or market penetration, as well as vision and business investment. They are also well-positioned for the future because of completeness of vision -- due to financial commitment and market share, technological differentiation or both. Leaders do not necessarily offer the best products for every customer project or role. However, they provide solutions that offer relatively lower risk." Designed to work seamlessly with the Documentum enterprise content management (ECM) platform, the Documentum Process Suite helps organizations build solutions for their information-rich processes. The suite of products allows both structured data and unstructured content to be captured and utilized to improve operational efficiency, then archived and stored to meet regulatory compliance requirements. The software also provides end-to-end process lifecycle management, with capabilities to optimize process performance at each stage in the process lifecycle, from design and analysis through execution and monitoring.
