DuPont General Counsel Stacey Mobley to Retire, Thomas Sager Named General Counsel - Designate

WILMINGTON, Del., June 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- DuPont today announced that Stacey J. Mobley, DuPont senior vice president, general counsel and chief administrative officer, has elected to retire. Succeeding him as senior vice president and general counsel, effective July 1, will be Thomas L. Sager, who currently is vice president and assistant general counsel.

Mobley, 62, was named a senior vice president in 1992 and has served as general counsel and chief administrative officer since 1999. He joined DuPont in 1972 as an attorney and has held leadership positions in DuPont Legal, Government Affairs and External Affairs throughout his career. He has been recognized by a number of legal organizations for service and leadership, including the American Civil Liberties Union, the National Law Journal, the Association of Corporate Counsel and the Minority Corporate Counsel Association. Last year, he received an Appleseed award for commitment to promoting pro bono legal support and diversity in the workplace.

Mobley has served in leadership roles for numerous philanthropic, educational and policy organizations, including Howard University, the U.S. Conference of Mayors, the NAACP, the United Way of Delaware, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Delaware and the Delaware Strategic Economic Council.

Sager, 58, joined DuPont in 1976 as an attorney in the labor and securities group. He advanced in DuPont Legal to become associate general counsel and chief litigation counsel in 1994 prior to being named to his current position in 1999.

Sager helped pioneer the DuPont Convergence and Law Firm Partnering Program. Through his leadership, this program has become a benchmark for its innovative approach to the business of practicing law. Sager currently serves as chairman of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association, a group that advocates for the expanded hiring, retention and promotion of minority attorneys in corporate law departments and the law firms they serve. He also is author of numerous articles.
