DSS Alleges Apple Infringes Wireless Devices Patents - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - DSS Technology Management, Inc., a subsidiary of Document Security Systems, Inc. (DSS), Wednesday said it has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Apple, Inc. in the U.S District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Tyler Division, alleging that Apple has infringed DSS' patents relating to the use of wireless peripheral devices.

DSS's complaint identifies Apple of using U.S. Patents 6,128,290 and 5,699,357, in a range of product lines, including computer products sold under the MacPro, Mac Mini and iMac brands and consumer electronics sold under the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and iPod Nano brands.

The '290 and '357 patents, both of which are entitled "Personal Data Network", where acquired by DSS during the third quarter in an effort to expand DSS's patent portfolio thereby enabling DSS's secure facilities monitoring product, Sensorshield, and to develop dedicated peripheral devices.
