Coors Brewing Company to Celebrate Education and Tradition During Bayou Classic

Coors Brewing Company (NYSE: TAP)(TSX: TAP) announced today that it proudly continues its tradition of supporting historically black colleges and universities with major donations to Grambling University and Southern University, the two schools that compete each year at the State Farm Bayou Classic. The highly anticipated event is the largest and oldest of the HBCU football classics, attracting more than 70,000 fans from across the nation. After the historic gridiron battle between the Grambling Tigers and the Southern University Jaguars, which takes place Saturday, November 25, at the Louisiana Super Dome, Coors, a co-sponsor of the event, will present each school with a check for $10,000 for scholarships for deserving students. It has donated monies to the two schools for most of the Classic’s 33-year history. This year’s State Farm Bayou Classic holds special significance because of its return to New Orleans after a forced evacuation to Texas last year following Hurricane Katrina.
