Comcast Names Kenneth J. Carrig Executive Vice President of Human Resources for Comcast Cable

Comcast Corporation (Nasdaq:CMCSA, CMCSK), the nation’s leading provider of entertainment, information and communications products and services, announced today that it named Kenneth J. Carrig, Executive Vice President of Human Resources for Comcast Cable. Mr. Carrig will join the company on February 2 and will report to Stephen B. Burke, Chief Operating Officer, Comcast Corporation, and David A. Scott, Executive Vice President, Finance & Administration, Comcast Cable.

"We are delighted to have Ken join the Comcast executive team to lead human resources,” said Mr. Burke. "Ken has been recognized as one of the top human resources professionals in his field and brings extensive experience to Comcast having overseen human resources at several major global corporations.”

Mr. Carrig comes to Comcast from Sysco Corporation, a $37.5 billion food service marketing and distribution organization based in Houston, Texas, where he serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Administration Officer. Before joining Sysco, he was Global Human Capital Leader for Andersen Consulting/Accenture. Prior to that, Mr. Carrig was Vice President of Global Human Resources for Continental Airlines. He also held multiple human resources positions with PepsiCo.

A 1981 graduate of Cornell University with a B.S. in Labor Economics, Mr. Carrig serves on the Advisory Board of Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations. Elected a National Academy of Human Resources Fellow in 2004, he is co-author of the book "Building Profits through Building People” published in 2006 about linking employees’ capabilities to customer needs. All royalties from the book are donated to Share Our Strength, an organization that fights hunger.

Mr. Carrig and his wife Lisa will relocate from Houston to the Philadelphia region.
