Clear Channel Television Introduces New Web Site Template
Clear Channel Communications, Inc. (NYSE:CCU): Inergize Digital Media, the interactive Web services arm of Clear Channel Television, today announced a new Web template for its customers’ sites. The template was designed with three primary objectives in mind: standardizing advertising placements and sizes to provide greater revenue generation, re-engineering of the template’s backbone to allow improved agility for new releases and updates, and modernizing site navigation and interactivity to produce a better user experience. "As more and more consumers go online for news and entertainment, it’s imperative that we continue to exceed expectations and enhance the user experience,” said Jason Gould, Regional Vice President of Inergize Digital Media. To increase advertising revenue, Inergize standardized placements and sizes across all Web pages while still allowing the sites to implement customized ad positions when necessary. The new ad sizes are larger and have already proven to be more inviting to advertisers. The new sizes also allow Inergize to execute national advertisements and ensure every page on a station’s site is paid for. The template was re-engineered to make the sites more agile and easier to update. To do so, ASP.NET 2.0 technologies were implemented, empowering programmers with dynamic tools to create a wide range of Web applications. For end users, the experience has been enhanced by making the template easier to navigate and more interactive. Links are now easier to find and the search technology is improved to guarantee the best possible results from local-site-searches. Meta-tags were also modified so that search engines would index station site pages more effectively. New flash features deliver more content on the home page and allow the user to customize content. Finally, AJAX-style features have been added to allow users to access new content without refreshing the entire page. This is particularly relevant for features like tab-style content boxes, hour-by-hour weather forecast and voting polls.
