Why Intel Stock Was Up 13.3% in Q1 as the S&P 500 Had Its Worst Quarter Since 2022
The first three months of 2025 were a tough run for the market. The S&P 500 lost 4.6% and the Nasdaq Composite lost 10.4%. Bucking the trend, however, shares of Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) were up 13.3%.After years of underperformance, Intel has shown signs of turning the tide over the course of the last few months.Most recently, Intel revived a bump from the news that it and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) -- the world's premiere chip manufacturer -- had reportedly reached an agreement that could revitalize Intel's struggling foundry business.
