Weyerhaeuser Names Kevin Shearer, VP and CIO
Weyerhaeuser Company (NYSE:WY) today announced that Kevin Shearer, 52,
has been named vice president, Information Technology and chief
information officer effective May 1.
He succeeds Susan M. Mersereau, 61, who is retiring, and will report to
Richard E. Hanson, chief operating officer.
Shearer has served as vice president, IT Business Operations since 2007.
He joined Weyerhaeuser in 1980 and has held numerous information
technology positions for Timberlands, Corporate Support and Wood
Products. Shearer also has held IT leadership positions during the
integration of the New Zealand, Cavenham, MacMillan Bloedel, Willamette
and Trus-Joist acquisitions.
Shearer holds a bachelor degree in computer science from Washington
State University and has completed post-graduate work at the University
of Texas and Clemson University.
Weyerhaeuser Company, one of the world’s
largest forest products companies, was incorporated in 1900. In 2007,
sales were $16.3 billion. It has offices or operations in 13 countries,
with customers worldwide. Weyerhaeuser is principally engaged in the
growing and harvesting of timber; the manufacture, distribution and sale
