Visa Inc. Announces 27% Rise In Q2 Profit

(RTTNews) - Visa Inc. (V) reported a profit for its second quarter that rose compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line climbed to $2.07 billion, or $0.86 per share. This was up from $1.63 billion, or $0.68 per share, in last year's second quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.79 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 23.4% to $4.48 billion. This was up from $3.63 billion last year.
