Verizon Customers Get Free Trial Of HBO Now

(RTTNews) - Verizon standalone broadband customers will immediately get a 30-day free access to HBO Now. These will include FiOS and high-speed Internet customers. After the free trial is over, HBO Now will be available for a subscription fee of $14.99 per month. HBO Now was launched in April.

HBO Now will provide instant access to all of HBO programming such as series, movies, documentaries, sports, music specials, etc. to more than 100 million Verizon Wireless customers and other consumers with handsets and/or tablets. It also has more than nine million broadband subscribers.

This is part of a broad multi-platform deal reached between Time Warner, Inc. (TWX) subsidiary Home Box Office, Inc. and Verizon Communications Inc. (VZ) that also includes the right for Verizon to distribute HBO NOWSM, HBO's internet-only service, to Verizon digital platforms.

HBO content will also be coming soon to Verizon's upcoming mobile video platform called Go90.

"HBO NOW brings compelling content and choice to Verizon broadband customers today - and exciting possibilities for HBO content within Verizon's pending mobile video service," said Ben Grad, executive director of content strategy and acquisition for Verizon.

Verizon broadband customers can now sign up through Verizon site www.verizon.com/hbonow for the free trial and access the service by downloading the HBO NOW app.

This deal with HBO is Verizon's latest after already adding content partners such as ESPN, Vice and a few of AOL's editorial brands.
