Unisys Center for Innovation in Government Announces Government IT Veterans as Newest Fellows
Unisys (NYSE:UIS) today announced the addition of four new Fellows to its Center for Innovation in Government, a virtual organization designed to connect government and industry leaders in technology to share ideas, experiences and best practices in technology innovation. The Center also announced the addition of new online reference resources.
To guide its initiatives, the Unisys Center for Innovation in Government has a board of Fellows that includes leading authorities on defense, IT security in the public sector, financial administration and national intelligence. The Fellows direct and conduct research, offer insight and provide guidance on approaches for tackling the critical challenges facing today’s public sector organizations. The newest Fellows include:
- General Peter Pace (Ret.), Former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and SM&A Strategic Advisors, President and Chief Executive Officer
- Gloria Parker, Former Chief Information Officer and Chief Technology Officer of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development; Former member of the Obama Administration Transition Team
- Dr. Lawrence A. Ponemon, Chairman and Founder of the Ponemon Institute, LLC, an organization dedicated to advancing ethical information and privacy management practices in business and government
- Gerry Wethington, Vice President, Homeland Security and Justice & Public Safety Programs, Unisys Global Public Sector
Since its launch in March 2009, the Center has published several new online resources and conducted a forum – featuring Center Fellows and practice leaders from Unisys Federal Systems – that explored the early days of the Obama administration with regard to issues related to IT innovation and security.

Days
This report presents insight from the Center’s roundtable on the early days of the Obama Administration – its accomplishments, opportunities, and inevitable challenges. It also looks ahead to the administration’s next 100 days, and how it will address major initiatives including procurement reform, transparency, and collaboration around the protection of critical IT infrastructure.

This report completes the Unisys Government of the Future series – highlighting new trends and drivers associated with privacy and security. Unisys has developed a comprehensive guide for keeping the enterprise secure from today’s growing list of threats, while minimizing exposure, controlling costs, and creating buy-in across the organization.
The Center for Innovation in Government has also advanced discussion around key IT issues facing the public sector, leveraging traditional and Web 2.0 media channels. The Center’s Facebook community, for example, provides a forum that enables industry thought leaders to share ideas, insight, and perspective on key issues that have an impact on the federal IT community.
