The Bank of New York Company, Inc.'s Pershing Unit Sharpens Focus on RIAs by Expanding Pershing Advisor Solutions Team

Pershing LLC, a member of BNY Securities Group and asubsidiary of The Bank of New York Company, Inc., has added a numberof new executives to support Pershing Advisor Solutions as part of thefirm's recently announced plans to expand its presence in theregistered investment advisor (RIA) market.

John Iachello, managing director at Pershing Advisor Solutions,said, "Pershing Advisor Solutions is committed to being a leadingprovider of solutions to the registered investment advisormarketplace. The broad range of experience these executives bring tothe firm will help us as we continue to build our advisor business andstrengthen the level of service and support we deliver to the marketsegment."

The recent appointments include TJ Gilsenan, Trent Witthoeft,Sheetal Doshi Brown, Jill Steffes, and Janie Carroll Peruyero.

TJ Gilsenan

TJ Gilsenan has joined as a director and is responsible forhelping lead the efforts of Pershing Advisor Solutions to expand itsRIA customer base and provide senior relationship management supportfor new and existing customers.

Mr. Gilsenan brings a track record of success to Pershing AdvisorSolutions that spans 13 years in the RIA business. Most recently, Mr.Gilsenan led the strategic planning and sales efforts for SchwabInstitutional's separately managed accounts business. During thistime, assets on the firm's separately managed account platformincreased by $10 billion and its industry ranking rose from 16th to6th place. Prior to that experience, Mr. Gilsenan served as Schwab'sRegional Vice President in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Trent Witthoeft

Trent Witthoeft has joined as a vice president and technologysales specialist. His responsibilities include working with PershingAdvisor Solutions' customers and prospects to identify workflow andtechnology needs, and serving as the liaison to deliver technologytools based on the business requirements of current and prospectivecustomers.

Most recently, Mr. Witthoeft was senior relationship manager ofpremier accounts at Advent Software, Inc., where he was responsiblefor supporting their top 50 East Coast clients. During hisseven-and-a-half-year tenure at Advent, Mr. Witthoeft worked withseveral hundred RIA organizations to help them streamline theiroperations and maximize their investments in technology. Mr. Witthoeftwas also co-founder and managing partner of Wexford CapitalManagement, Inc. (Tampa), an RIA firm specializing in portfoliomanagement for high-net-worth individuals. Mr. Witthoeft began hisfinancial services career as a registered representative in 1990.

Sheetal Doshi Brown

Sheetal Doshi Brown has joined as a vice president responsible forbusiness development and customer relationship management in theSoutheast region for Pershing Advisor Solutions.

Ms. Brown comes to Pershing Advisor Solutions after 12 years withSchwab Institutional. Since 1997, she has served as a businessdevelopment officer in both the Midwest and the Southeast U.S.,earning accolades for top tier performance. Ms. Brown was honored withSchwab's prestigious Excellence in Sales Award in 2002. Ms. Brown alsoheld positions within the firm as a senior account manager and aregional account representative.

Jill Steffes

Jill Steffes has joined as a vice president and will beresponsible for leading research and project management initiativesfor the business development area within Pershing Advisor Solutions.

Ms. Steffes comes to Pershing from Schwab Institutional where shewas most recently a divisional project manager in Institutional Sales.Since joining the firm in 2001, Ms. Steffes received numerous awards,including Schwab's Excellence in Service Award in 2004 and the SchwabInstitutional STAR Award for Extraordinary Partnership in 2004. Priorto that, Ms. Steffes worked at the Boston Consulting Group and R.V.Kuhns and Associates where she was a research analyst withresponsibilities including qualitative and quantitative analysis ofmoney managers for institutional clients.

Janie Carroll Peruyero

Janie Carroll Peruyero has joined as a vice president and will beresponsible for overseeing the strategic marketing efforts forPershing Advisor Solutions.

Ms. Peruyero brings more than 15 years of experience in financialmarketing with a focus on RIAs and high-net-worth individuals toPershing. Most recently, she led client acquisition marketing effortsfor JPMorgan Chase's high-net-worth business. Prior to that, sheserved as a first vice president in TD Waterhouse Institutional'smarketing division. Ms. Peruyero has also held positions with InstinetCorporation and Fidelity Investments in their registered investmentadvisor group.
