Sony To Sell Building 5, Premises At Gotenyama Technology Center For 7 Bln Yen

(RTTNews) - Sony Corp. (SON.L, SNE) Thursday said it has agreed to sell Building 5 and premises at the Gotenyama Technology Center of Sony to Sumitomo Realty & Development Co., Ltd., a Japanese real estate company. The agreed sale price is 7 billion yen.

Sony aims to close this sale by the end of April and expects to realize a gain of around 5 billion yen. This gain will be recorded as operating income in the first quarter of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2015, when the sale closes.

As a result of this sale, no impact is expected on Sony's forecast of the consolidated financial results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2014.
