Schering-Plough Announces Executive Management Team Changes
KENILWORTH, N.J., Feb. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Schering-Plough Corporation today announced the appointment of Brent Saunders as senior vice president and president, Consumer Health Care, reporting to Fred Hassan, chairman and chief executive officer. Saunders will also continue in his leadership role for the new HomeAgain business.
Saunders is currently senior vice president, Global Compliance & Business Practices, and he will continue as a member of the company's Executive Management Team (EMT) and the Operations Management Team (OMT). He will be succeeded by Lori Queisser, who has been named senior vice president, Global Compliance & Business Practices, also reporting to Hassan. Queisser joins Schering-Plough from Eli Lilly and Company and will become a member of the EMT and the OMT.
Schering-Plough also announced Raul Kohan has been named senior vice president and president, Animal Health, reporting to Hassan. He will continue to serve on the EMT and the OMT and will serve as a strategic advisor to Consumer Health Care. Kohan will continue to support the HomeAgain business due to the close working relationship between HomeAgain and Animal Health. He will also work on additional corporate initiatives in collaboration with other EMT colleagues.

Saunders will begin transferring his responsibilities as Queisser transitions to her new role effective Feb. 20, 2007. He starts his new position on June 1, 2007. Stan Barshay will continue in his current role as Chairman, Consumer Health Care, reporting to Saunders.
In his new role, Saunders will be responsible for leading the U.S. and Canadian Consumer Health Care business and will work collaboratively with the Global Pharmaceutical Business unit. Saunders joined Schering-Plough in 2003 as senior vice president, Global Compliance & Business Practices. In addition to his compliance responsibilities, he has led the design and implementation team for global clinical harmonization and led the HomeAgain team in preparation to launch the new business model.
Before joining Schering-Plough, Saunders was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he led the firm's pharmaceutical compliance business advisory services group. He earned a J.D. degree from the Temple University School of Law, Philadelphia and an M.B.A. degree from the Temple University School of Business and Management. He graduated with a B.A. in economics from the University of Pittsburgh.
Queisser joins Schering-Plough from Eli Lilly and Company, where she most recently served as vice president, chief compliance officer, and was responsible for establishing and implementing the vision and strategy for a comprehensive and integrated global compliance program. She holds a bachelor's degree in science from Indiana University School of Business. She co-chairs the Pharmaceutical Compliance Forum.
Kohan has been with the company since 1984 when he joined as finance director of Schering-Plough Venezuela. He held various positions of increasing responsibility and was appointed president of Schering-Plough Animal Health in 1993 and assumed responsibility for Global Specialty Operations in 2003. He holds an M.B.A. degree in economics from the University of Buenos Aires and graduated from the General San Martin Military Academy in Argentina.
