Salesforce.com Q2 Adj. Profit Tops View; Lifts FY15 Adj. EPS, Revenue Outlook

(RTTNews) - Salesforce.com (CRM), Thursday reported second-quarter net loss of $61.1 million, or $0.10 per share, compared to net income of $76.6 million, or $0.12 per share in the comparable quarter last year.

Adjusted earnings for the latest second quarter rose to $85.7 million or $0.13 per share, from $56.3 million or $0.09 per share in the year-ago period. On average, 34 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.12 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total revenues for the quarter grew 38 percent to $1.32 billion from $957.09 million last year, while thirty one analysts estimated revenues of $1.29 billion for the quarter.

Looking ahead to the third quarter, the company expects loss of $0.13 to $0.12 per share, adjusted earnings of $0.12 to $0.13 per share, and revenues of $1.365 billion to $1.370 billion. Analysts currently estimate earnings of $0.13 per share on revenues of $1.37 billion.

For the full year 2015, the company now expects loss of $0.48 to $0.46 per share, adjusted earnings of $0.50 to $0.52 and revenues of $5.34 billion to $5.37 billion. Analysts currently expect earnings of $0.51 per share on revenues of $5.34 billion for the full year 2015.

Earlier, the company expected full year 2015 loss of $0.49 to $0.47 per share, adjusted earnings of $0.49 to $0.51 and revenues of $5.30 billion to $5.34 billion.
