PlayStation Plus Pay Service Is Catching On
(RTTNews) - One third of its PlayStation Plus users pay for games, Sony revealed on Wednesday.
On its Investor Relations Day presentation Sony said there are 20.8 million paid subscribers in the financial year. Total monthly active PlayStation users are about 60 million. These subscribers are from various platforms such as PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita. With impressive growth in video games, Sony is expecting to achieve its profit targets.
PlayStation Plus offers discounts as well as free games every month. Membership fee for a month is $10, while a combination pack for three months will cost only $18. For a year, subscribers have to pay $50.
Sony is planning to launch "the Last Guardian" and "Gran Turismo Sport" within a few months on its PS4 platform. The company has revealed that it had to change many parts of the game to suit its transformation from PS3 to PS4.
Sony is planning for an updated version of PS4, probably PS5.
Recently Sony's rival Microsoft announced a new version of Xbox, smaller than its earlier versions. Priced at $299, it will reach games enthusiasts in August.
