OSI Systems Q4 Profit, Revenue Drop - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - OSI Systems, Inc. (OSIS), a manufacturer of specialized electronic systems and components, said fourth-quarter net income fell to $11.85 million or $0.58 per share from $15.91 million or $0.78 per share in the previous year.

Excluding the impact of impairment, restructuring and other charges, and the impact of tax elections, net income would have been $20.9 million, or $1.02 per share. Last year, adjusted earnings totaled $16.3 million or $0.79 per share.

On average, 5 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $1.02 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenue dropped 3 percent to $227.9 million from $235.24 million in the prior year. Analysts expected revenues of $220.79 million.

Looking ahead to fiscal 2014, the company expects 17 - 22 percent growth in earnings per share to $3.22 to $3.38, which excludes the impact of impairment, restructuring and other non-recurring charges, and the impact of certain tax elections.

The firm expects fiscal 2014 sales to be between $870 million and $895 million, representing an 8 to 12 percent increase over fiscal 2013.

Wall Street expects earnings of $3.34 per share on revenues of $872.85 million.
