Leica Biosystems To Acquire Devicor Medical Products, Inc.

(RTTNews) - Leica Biosystems, a part of Danaher Corporation's (DHR) diagnostics platform, Tuesday said it will buy Devicor Medical Products, Inc. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"Leica Biosystems' products and solutions address the key steps across the anatomic pathology workflow. The addition of Devicor's market leading breast biopsy products, especially Mammotome, allows us to further integrate that workflow from the source, starting with the patient and the biopsy sample," said Matthias Weber, President of Leica Biosystems, in a statement.

Following the transaction, Devicor will operate as a standalone business within Leica and will be continued to be led by Tom Daulton, the current CEO of Devicor.

The acquisition is expected to close in early 2015.
