GM April Total Sales Rise 7% - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Automaker General Motors Co. (GM) said its dealers delivered 254,076 vehicles in the U.S. in April 2014, with total sales up 7 percent year-on-year. Fleet sales grew 5 percent and retail sales, that is vehicles sold to individual buyers, improved by 8 percent. Looking ahead, GM expects to increase its retail market share from March.

"Retail demand was steady in April, and truck sales and transaction prices were especially strong," said Kurt McNeil, U.S. vice president of Sales Operations.

During April 2014, Chevrolet sales advanced 5 percent, with Cadillac total sales up 5 percent.
