FT: Sandberg Slashes Facebook Holdings By Half
(RTTNews) - Sheryl Sandberg, second in charge at Facebook, has slashed her holdings in the company by more than half since its IPO in 2012, the Financial Times reports.
Citing analysis of recent regulatory filings, FT reports Sandberg's 0.5 percent stake is still worth about $1 billion.
Sandberg, Facebook's chief operating officer, has been with the social networking giant since 2008. She was Google's ad platform guru before being lured away by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerman.
Sandberg has been rumored to be moving on from Facebook in the coming months.
The New York Post reported earlier this month that Sandberg is being eyed for the job of Chief Executive Officer at Disney when current Disney CEO Bob Iger's contract runs out in two years.
She has been on the Disney board since 2010.
Sandberg has also been seen as a strong candidate for a Senate run in 2016. She has denied any political plans as recently as January.
Before Google, Sandberg served as Chief of Staff to then United States Secretary of the Treasury Larry Summers under President Bill Clinton.
