Ford April U.S. Sales Edges Down 0.7% - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Ford Motor Co. (F) said that its April 2014 U.S. Sales edged down 0.7% to 211,126 vehicles from 212,584 vehicles in the same month last year.

Retail sales of 141,950 vehicles are off 1 percent compared with a year ago. Commercial and government fleet sales were up 16 and 21 percent, respectively, while daily rental sales declined 24 percent.

Car sales for the month of April declined 9.1% year-over-year to 71,357 units from 78,513 units, while truck sales increased 8.0% to 80,970 units and utilities sales edged down 0.5% to 58,799 units as compared to a year earlier.
