Expedia Swings To Q1 Profit

(RTTNews) - Expedia, Inc. (EXPE) reported net income for the first quarter of $44.1 million or $0.34 per share, compared to a net loss of $14.3 million or $0.11 per share for the year-ago quarter.

Excluding items, adjusted net loss for the first quarter was $4.2 million or $0.03 per share, compared to adjusted net income of $21.5 million or $0.16 per share in the prior year quarter.

Revenue for the first quarter rose 14% to $1.37 billion from $1.20 billion a year ago.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.09 per share on revenue of $1.35 billion for the first quarter.
