Deutsche Bank Adds Four Members to Advisory Boards in the Americas

Deutsche Bank announced that four new members have joined its Advisory Boards in the Americas at a joint meeting of the Boards today. John E. Bryson, William R. Howell and Ellen R. Marram have joined Deutsche Banks Americas Advisory Board, and Armando Garza Sada has joined the firms Latin American Advisory Board.

The Advisory Boards were created to advise and consult with Deutsche Bank executives and clients on a wide range of strategic and market issues, including business development and growth as well as economic, industry, political and social trends. Board members also advise on client initiatives.

John E. Bryson is the former Chairman and CEO of Edison International. Before joining Edison, Bryson was a partner in the law firm of Morrison and Foerster and also served as President of the California Public Utilities Commission and as Chairman of the California State Water Resources Control Board. Previously he practiced law and served as a co-founder and attorney for the Natural Resources Defense Council. Bryson is a corporate director of The Boeing Company, W. M. Keck Foundation and The Walt Disney Company and a trustee of the California Institute of Technology. He serves or has served on a number of educational, environmental and other non-profit boards, including serving as chairman of the California Business Roundtable and as a trustee of Stanford University.

William R. Howell is the former CEO and Chairman of the Board of J.C. Penney Inc. He joined the company in 1958 as a management trainee and earned increasingly senior management positions. In 1979 he was elected senior vice president and director of merchandising; marketing and catalog. He was named Executive Vice President and a company director in 1981 and Vice Chairman of the board of directors in 1982. He was elected Chairman of the Board and CEO in 1983 and remained CEO until January 1995 and Chairman of the Board until January 1997. Howell serves as a corporate director for Pfizer and The Williams Company. He is a past Chairman of the National Retail Federation, United Way of America, Dallas Citizens Council and Southern Methodist Universitys Board of Trustees. He was a corporate director for Exxon Corporation, Warner-Lambert Company, Halliburton Company, Bankers Trust and Central and South West Corporation.

Ellen R. Marram is President of The Barnegat Group, LLC, a business advisory firm. Previously Marram was President and CEO of Tropicana and the Tropicana Beverage Group, President and CEO of the Nabisco Biscuit Company, the largest operating unit of Nabisco, Inc., and was a Managing Director of North Castle Partners, a private equity firm focused on investments in the healthy living and aging sector, where she currently serves as an operating advisor. She is a member of the board of directors of Ford Motor Company, The New York Times Company, Eli

Lilly and Company, and Cadbury Schweppes, as well as several private companies. She is a member of the Health Executives Leadership Network and serves as a trustee of the Institute For The Future. She has served as a trustee of The Conference Board and the Board of Associates of Harvard Business School.

Armando Garza Sada is Vice President for Corporate Development at Grupo Alfa, which he joined in 1978. From 1993 to 1999, he served as President of Sigma, Alfas food division. He also served as President of Versax, which included Nemak, and held executive positions at ALFA, Polioles and Selther. He is a member of the boards of ALFA, BMV, FEMSA, Gigante, Liverpool, Lamosa, CYDSA, Frisa, ITESM and MVS and has been Chairman of CAINTRA (Nuevo Leon State Manufacturing Industry Chamber) and the Private Sector Industrial and Economic Council. He also is a member of the Stanford Business School Alumni Association and the Deans Advisory Council of MITs Sloan School of Management.

Deutsche Banks Americas Advisory Board is comprised of 16 prominent executives and government figures from an array of industries and backgrounds. In addition to its three new members, other members include Norm Augustine, Michael D. Capellas, Anthony W. Deering, Archie W. Dunham, Benjamin H. Griswold, IV, Robert L. Johnson, Edward A. Kangas, Lynn M. Martin, Robert P. May, George J. Mitchell, Michael E. J. Phelps and John W. Snow, as well as emeritus member James Ireland Cash, Jr.

Deutsche Banks Latin American Advisory Board consists of 10 members drawn from government and industry, including former Presidents, Finance Ministers and senior government officials, as well as CEOs and captains of industry. In addition to new member Garza Sada, members consist of Mauricio Novis Botelho, Fernando Henrique Cardoso, Armando Garza Sada, Nicolás Eyzaguirre Guzmán, Enrique Iglesias, Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, María Amalia Lacroze de Fortabat, Lynn Martin, Luis Alejandro Pagani and Miguel Urrutia Montoya.
