David Weintraub Joins ADM as Director, External Affairs

DECATUR, Ill., July 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- David A. Weintraub joins Archer Daniels Midland Company in the newly created position of director, External Affairs, effective immediately.

Weintraub comes to ADM from the Chicago corporate affairs practice of Weber Shandwick where he counseled clients, including ADM, on communication strategy, media relations and issues and crisis management.

As director, External Affairs, Weintraub will be responsible for managing ADM's interaction with national and international news media. He will report to Victoria Podesta, vice president, Corporate Communications.

"David brings to ADM not only a breadth of expertise to help communicate ADM's vision and strategy, but also a deep understanding of our operations gained through years of experience working alongside our communication team," said Podesta. "His passion for our business will be important as we strive to increase public awareness and understanding of ADM's operations, business strategy and opportunities. Prior to joining Weber Shandwick, Weintraub served on the staffs of U.S. Commerce Secretary Donald L. Evans and U.S. Senator Wayne Allard.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree in communication studies from Northwestern University.
