Copa Holdings Q2 Profit Tops View - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Copa Holdings SA (CPA) Monday said second-quarter profit improved to $74.4 million or $1.68 per share from $32.0 million or $0.72 per share in the same period last year.

Adjusted earnings for the quarter were $85.0 million or $1.92 per share, up from $58.5 million, or $1.32 per share, in the year-ago period. On average, 12 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $1.71 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total operating revenue were $592.01 million, up 14.8 percent from $515.84 million last year. Analysts expected revenues of $591.80 million. Traffic, measured in revenue passenger miles or RPMs, increased 20.4 percent to 3.48 billion from 2.89 billion last year.

Capacity, measured in avaiable seat miles or ASMsm, totaled 4.62 billion, up from 3.92 billion last year.

Load factor for the period was 75.3 percent, compared to 73.5 percent last year.
