College Says Chipotle Made Basketball Team Sick

(RTTNews) - Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. (CMG) has another public relations disaster on its hands.

The Boston Herald reports 30 Boston College students, including at least eight members of the men's basketball team, have complained of gastrointestinal symptoms after eating at a Chipotle restaurant in Cleveland circle.

"Several BC students and student-athletes, including members of the BC men's basketball team, have reported to BC Health Services complaining of gastrointestinal symptoms," according to a statement from the college.

"Students who are experiencing these gastrointestinal symptoms are encouraged to seek medical care either at BC Health Services or from their own physician."

Massachusetts Department of Public Health is checking whether this incident has any link to the ongoing national outbreak of e-coli.

Mexican food chain's stock continues to be impacted due to the E. coli outbreak. The company had last week disclosed that previous E. coli incidents will have an adverse impact on financial and operating results for the fourth quarter.
