Clear Channel Radio Expands Its Commitment to Creating Compelling Content for Advertisers and Listeners
-- Creative Services Group Adds Elizabeth Smith as Creative Director to Bolster Initiative to Improve Commercial Creative
-- New, Shorter Campaigns for Kroger Market Place and American Equity Mortgage Underway
Clear Channel Radio today announced that its Creative ServicesGroup is making progress improving the radio listening experience andvalue to advertisers with more compelling radio advertisements. Thegroup, which launched last fall, recently hired Elizabeth Smith as itsCreative Director to help lead this effort and strengthen its team ofcreative talent.
"Radio's advertising landscape is constantly evolving andtherefore the creative resources our group provides have been receivedquickly and with much excitement from both advertising agencies andlocal stations," said Bob Case, Vice President and General Manager ofClear Channel Radio's Creative Services Group. "Elizabeth's years ofexperience make her a valuable addition as we roll out more memorableradio ad campaigns for a growing list of advertisers."
The Creative Services Group recently completed two majoradvertising promotions, including one to introduce a new retailconcept for Kroger Market Place. The group has also worked with one ofits Top 20 national advertisers, American Equity Mortgage, inconverting :60s to :30s.
As Creative Director, Ms. Smith will develop local, regional andnational advertising campaigns strategies and shorter lengthcommercials for Clear Channel advertisers. She will also contribute tothe on-going training of Clear Channel account executives andcommercial production talent. Ms. Smith is based in Atlanta and herposition was effective as last month.
"Now is an exciting time to work on the creative side of radio aslisteners are staying tuned for longer periods to Clear Channel's lesscluttered, better listening environment," said Smith. "I look forwardto working with Executive Creative Director Robert Summers and theextraordinary talent that makes up the Creative Services Group."
With more than 20 years of media experience, Ms. Smith hasassembled and grown creative departments focused on consumer andB-to-B marketing campaigns most recently as Senior Vice President andCreative Director at Kilgannon McReynolds in Atlanta. She is also anexperienced copywriter having held that position at Sawyer RileyCompton, Cargill Wilson & Acree and in a freelance capacity. Prior tocopywriting, Ms. Smith was a journalist writing for the Seymour DailyTribune and a Staff Editor for Pulp & Paper magazine. She holds aBachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Georgia.
