Carpenter Technology Corp. Q4 Profit Decreases - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Carpenter Technology Corporation (CRS) reported fourth-quarter net income to company of $38.1 million or $0.71 per share, compared to $40.9 million or $0.77 per share in the same quarter last year.

On average, ten analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $0.74 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Net sales were $604.6 million, compared to $611.8 million, a year ago. Analysts expected revenue of $618.52 million for the quarter. Net sales excluding surcharge were $488.9 million, a decrease of 2 percent from the same quarter last year.

"Our first quarter of fiscal year 2015 will be challenging as we expect normal seasonality combined with a mix similar to our fourth quarter of fiscal year 2014. We expect to see the impact of our price increases and mix improvement actions beginning in the second quarter of the fiscal year," said William Wulfsohn, President and CEO.
