Capital One Bank Names James Jackson New Head of Branch Distribution

Capital One Bank announced today that James Jackson will join the company as the Head of Branch Distribution. With more than 25 years of experience in the banking industry, Jackson will be responsible for managing staff in approximately 1,000 branches across the company’s banking markets including New York, New Jersey, Texas, Louisiana, Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. Jackson will report to Lynn Pike, President of Capital One Bank, and will be a member of the bank’s senior leadership team. Jackson will replace Carolyn Drexel, who is retiring after more than 30 years of service with the company.

"Capital One is a relationship and customer-focused bank. We are committed to the development of a network of bank branches that leverages the strength of Capital One while, at the same time, provides regional and local banking customers the exceptional products and services that matter to them,” said Pike. "James will play a pivotal role in our ongoing efforts to move that vision forward. He brings tremendous depth, expertise and a proven leadership style to the table as we work to build upon the successes of our growing franchise.”

An experienced leader with extensive banking expertise, Jackson joins Capital One from Bank of America where he recently served as the Southeast division executive for Premier Banking & Investments. In this position he was responsible for the business segment that delivers financial solutions through full-service banking, brokerage and investment products to affluent clients in the Southeast. Jackson also served as the CRE Mortgage Sales executive for the Consumer Real Estate and Insurance Services Group. In this role, he was responsible for the end-to-end management of all sales channels, including both direct-to-consumer and business-to-business channels. Prior to that, Jackson served as Consumer Banking division executive for Bank of America’s East Division, where he was responsible for 1,500 banking centers and $77 billion in market balances.

Jackson holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia. Jackson is a certified public accountant. Additionally, Jackson is a member of the Arts and Science Council Executive Board, the Urban Financial Services Coalition, 100 Black Men of America, Inc., and the Foundation for the Carolinas.
