Blast In Mosque Kills 8 In Kuwait; 27 Die In Gunfire In Tunisia
(RTTNews) - A blast at the Al-Imam al-Sadeq mosque in Kuwaiti capital killed eight people. Several people were wounded in the explosion, probably a suicide bombing, after the Friday prayers. Many are said to be in critical condition.
Meanwhile, a terrorist firing has killed 27 people on a beach near Tunisian resorts. It is suspected that most of the victims are British holiday makers. The attack was at Sousse city, a popular tourist spot, on the east coast of Tunisia. It is suspected that ISIS organized the attack.
Media reports said Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant group claimed the responsibility for the attack in Kuwait city. In an Internet post, IS group said the target was a "temple of the rejectionists," referring to Shiite Muslims. Similar blasts were there in Saudi Arabia and Yemen in last few weeks.
The Kuwaiti Government has called an emergency session of the parliament to assess the situation. The blast was very near to its Interior Ministry office.
In March, 21 people were killed in a terrorist attack at the Bardo National Museum in Tunis, the capital city of Tunisia. Most of the victims were European tourists. ISIS claimed the responsibility of the attack.
