Barry C. Johnson Elected to Rockwell Automation Board of Directors

Rockwell Automation, Inc. (NYSE:ROK) today announcedthat Barry C. Johnson, Ph.D. was elected as a new member of thecompany's Board of Directors.

Johnson, 62, is currently the Dean of Engineering at VillanovaUniversity. As academic leader of the College of Engineering, Dr.Johnson oversees four departments with 60 faculty members and 1,200undergraduate and graduate students.

Prior to joining Villanova, Johnson was senior vice president andchief technology officer of Honeywell International in Morristown, NJ.Johnson also previously served as Corporate Vice President ofMotorola, Inc., Chief Technology Officer for the company'sSemiconductor Product Sector in Tempe, AZ and held a variety oftechnology, product development and operations leadership positionsduring his 16-year career there.

Johnson holds Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in metallurgical engineeringand materials science from Carnegie-Mellon University and a B.S.degree in mechanical engineering from Villanova University. He is amember of the National Academy of Engineering (2000) and the firstU.S. citizen to be elected to the Fraunhofer Society, Germany'sprestigious applied research organization (1999). He also is aninventor named on seven U.S. patents.
