Apple Faces Lawsuit For Bricked Phones

(RTTNews) - A Seattle-based law firm has filed a lawsuit against tech giant Apple over 'Error 53', a software issue that bricks iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus devices if its Touch ID is replaced or repaired by an unapproved service center.

According to Apple, the Error 53 is being generated by security checks designed to protect its customers.

The latest version of iOS 9 checks whether the device is using original components, and if it finds any duplicate parts have been used it bricks the phone.

Apple says fraudulent third-party technicians replace duplicate parts for original will allow hackers to extract sensitive data of users.

PCVA has filed the law suit in the District Court for the Northern District of California on behalf of several affected angry iPhone owners.
