Amazon.com Q3 Loss Narrows
(RTTNews) - Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) Thursday reported third-quarter net loss of $41 million or $0.09 per share, compared to a net loss of $274 million or $0.60 per share last year. On average, 39 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected loss of $0.09 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Net sales increased 24 percent to $17.09 billion in the third quarter from $13.81 billion last year. Analysts estimated revenues of 16.76 billion for the quarter.
Looking forward to the fourth quarter, Amazon expects net sales of $23.5 billion and $26.5 billion. Analysts currently estimate revenues of $25.89 billion for the quarter.
