Alliant Energy Corp Profit Declines 40% In Q4

(RTTNews) - Alliant Energy Corp (LNT) revealed earnings for fourth quarter that dropped from last year.

The company said its profit dropped to $35.9 million, or $0.31 per share. This was lower than $60.0 million, or $0.54 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.43 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 8.0% to $740.1 million. This was down from $804.1 million last year.
