ADC Announces 2005 FTTX Leadership Symposium Series; Industry Leaders
Business Editors/Technology Editors
MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 2, 2005--ADC (NASDAQ:ADCT)(www.adc.com) today announced dates for the company's 2005 series of FTTX Leadership Symposiums. These symposiums build on the momentum of the highly successful 2004 series and are designed to gather industry leaders for discussion, collaboration and education regarding the growing FTTX market.
In 2004, the FTTX market saw an unprecedented level of activity and 2005 is expected to be an even bigger year for FTTX deployments. According to KMI Research, U.S. capital expenditures related to FTTX will reach $3.2 billion in 2009, from an estimated $760 million in 2004. ADC's new OmniReach(TM) FTTX solutions, launched in 2004, were developed and are being enhanced to meet customer needs in this large, high-growth market segment.
"Recognizing the tremendous impact of FTTX on the telecommunications industry, ADC has put together a series of symposiums that allow industry leaders to discuss the current state of FTTX technology," said Tom Kampf, director of global fiber product management for ADC. "The 2005 FTTX Leadership Symposiums follow last year's very successful series of symposiums that set the standard for industry-leading content and learning opportunities. Now, this year ADC has put together an even richer format that provides valuable information for anyone currently deploying or contemplating the deployment of an FTTX architecture."
The format for the 2005 FTTX Leadership Symposiums features informative presentations by ADC, OEM partners and by service providers who can share real-life deployment experiences with the audience. Telephone companies and municipalities are building new networks to extend fiber closer to their subscribers for the delivery of "triple play" services - high-speed Internet/data, video and voice services.
The FTTX Leadership Symposiums are free of charge and will take place following or during several state telecommunications conventions. Scheduled dates and cities include:
3/9/05 Portland, Ore. 3/23/05 Minneapolis, Minn. 4/14/05 Bretton Woods, N.H. 5/12/05 Fargo, N.D. 7/11/05 Toronto, Canada 7/18/05 Atlanta, Ga.
For participants who desire more in-depth training, ADC will augment this free symposium series with fee-based learning programs at its World Headquarters in April and October.
