New Zealand Credit Card Spending On Tap For Wednesday
(RTTNews) - New Zealand will on Wednesday release March numbers for credit card spending, highlighting a light day for Asia-Pacific economic activity.
Retail credit card spending is expected to add 0.4 percent on month after rising 0.9 percent in February. Overall credit card spending was up 0.6 percent on month in the previous month.
Australia will provide February figures for home loans, and also see the April results for the consumer confidence index from Westpac.
Home loans are expected to gain 1.5 percent on month after a flat reading in January. The confidence index in January was down 0.7 percent to a score of 99.5.
South Korea will announce unemployment data for March, with analysts expecting the jobless rate to ease to 3.6 percent from 3.9 percent in February.
Finally, the stock markets in the Philippines and Vietnam are closed on Wednesday for Araw ng Kagitingan and HungKings' Day, respectively. They will re-open on Thursday.
