Malta Economic Growth Accelerates In Q1

(RTTNews) - Malta's economy grew at a faster pace in the first quarter of this year, preliminary figures from the National Statistical Institute showed Monday.

Gross domestic product in real terms advanced 3.5 percent year-on-year in the first quarter, following a 2.2 percent growth registered in the last quarter.

The economy expanded for the eighth consecutive quarter and the latest pace of growth was the fastest since the second quarter of 2013.

In unadjusted terms, GDP grew 5.0 percent from the same quarter last year, following a 4.7 percent growth in the previous quarter.
