Malaysia Producer Prices Rise 0.3%
(RTTNews) - Malaysia's producer prices increased for the third straight month in February, though at a slower pace, figures from the Department of Statistics showed on Thursday.
Producer prices rose 0.3 percent year-on-year in February, following a 0.8 percent increase in January.
Among sectors, the price index for agriculture, forestry, and fishing grew sharply by 15.2 percent from last year. Meanwhile, the fall in mining prices deepened to 9.7 percent from 1.3 percent.
The price index for manufacturing showed a fall of 0.3 percent, and the electricity and gas supply index declined by 0.2 percent.
On a month-on-month basis, producer prices edged up 0.1 percent in February, following a 0.3 percent gain in January.
