Luxembourg Inflation Eases Slightly In August
(RTTNews) - Luxembourg's consumer price inflation slowed marginally in August, figures from the statistical office STATEC showed Wednesday.
The consumer price index rose 0.6 percent year-over-year in August, slightly slower than prior month's 07 percent climb. Prices have been rising since February.
The annual inflation virtually stable for the fourth consecutive month, the agency said.
The increase in August was largely driven by the end of summer sales. Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages grew 1.42 percent, while transport costs went down by 0.92 percent.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 1.0 percent in August, reversing a 1.1 percent decrease in the preceding month.
